Kyle Schwarber’s walk-off moonshot caps 6-run Phillies rally to stun Cardinals

The Philadelphia Phillies just keep winning. Kyle Schwarber blasted a walk-off home run on Sunday, to help the team win their ninth consecutive game. Philadelphia knocked off the St. Louis Cardinals, 6-4.

The win continues a magical season for Philadelphia, who has completely turned it around once Don Mattingly took over as manager. On Sunday, the Phillies had their backs against the wall but still won.

“They were down 4-0 with 2 outs and wind up capping it off on Kyle Schwarber’s walk off HR,” USA Today’s Bob Nightengale posted to X.

Philadelphia was once left for dead in the National League. That has all changed since Rob Thomson was given the boot. Mattingly has taken a struggling team and turned them into one of the NL’s most dangerous clubs.

The Phillies are now 73-58 on the season following the win.
