Knicks’ Josh Hart trolls ‘broke boy’ Jose Alvarado after Pelicans trade leads to NBA Finals

On Monday evening, the New York Knicks punched their ticket to their first NBA Finals in 27 years with a blowout Game 4 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals. The win gave the Knicks their 11th straight playoff victory, and they will now take on either the San Antonio Spurs or the Oklahoma City Thunder for the championship.

After the game, Knicks forward Josh Hart, who had a strong series against the Cavs, took to Instagram to troll teammate Jose Alvarado, who was traded to the Knicks from the New Orleans Pelicans during the season.

While he may not be the star of the show, Alvarado has had some strong moments for the Knicks during this postseason run, playing his signature pesky perimeter defense, as well as knocking down some threes and putting pressure on the rim on the offensive end of the floor.

Meanwhile, Hart continues to be the connective tissue that holds the Knicks together, providing elite versatility on defense, making smart reads on offense, and also knocking down triples when the Cavs left him open this series, particularly in New York’s Game 2 blowout win.

New York has been on an absolutely dominant run ever since they fell behind 2-1 to the Atlanta Hawks in the first round, routing Atlanta in the next three games of that series and then sweeping both the 76ers and Cavs in lopsided fashion.

New York now sits just four wins away from their first NBA Finals win in over a half century, but they will be taking on far and away their greatest challenge yet next, regardless of whether it’s the Spurs or Thunder that come out of the West.

Game 1 of the NBA Finals is set for next Wednesday evening.
