Brian Schottenheimer’s truth bomb on 2026 Cowboys roster will only fan Super Bowl flames

After the Dallas Cowboys beat the Arizona Cardinals in a preseason matchup on Saturday, 34-13, the team is looking to carry that momentum into Week 1 against the New York Giants on Sept. 13. As the Cowboys get ready for the 2026 NFL season, head coach Brian Schottenheimer would have a big claim about the roster that is sure to make any fan excited.

Speaking to the media on Monday, Schottenheimer compared the Dallas roster from last season to this year, with the coach saying that the depth and talent are “higher.” Schottenheimer also expressed the amount of confidence that the team has in itself to achieve wonders this upcoming season.

“If you take our roster from last year and you lay it down next to our roster from this year, there’s no question that the depth and the overall talent is higher,” Schottenheimer said, according to Jon Machota of The Athletic. “This is a good football team. We got a lot of confidence. We just got to make the right decisions as we get to cut-down day, which we will.”

There’s no denying that the Cowboys’ top stars fit the bill as the offense is led by quarterback Dak Prescott and the two-receiver tandem of CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. On the defensive side of the ball, Dallas includes Quinnen Williams, Kenny Clark, and other impact players, as the unit looks to be better than it was in a frustrating season for the defense.

At any rate, the Cowboys look to improve after finishing with a 7-9 record, which put them second in the NFC East.
