Knicks’ Josh Hart has all the jokes after Kelly Oubre’s Jalen Brunson comment

In Game 1 of the second round series between the New York Knicks and the Philadelphia 76ers, Mike Brown’s squad pretty much did whatever they wanted.

Seperating themselves in the second quarter by nearly outscoring Nick Nurse’s squad two-to-one, the Knicks were once again able to go to their bench in the fourth quarter and easily secure the win on their home court, but why? Was it because Brown outgamed Nurse? Or maybe the fact that the 76ers were stone cold from beyond the arc?

Well, according to 76ers wing Kelly Oubre Jr., the real culprit was Jalen Brunson, or really his giant head, which made it difficult to defend him.

“I don’t know, I just know he has a big head. So, you know, it’s definitely tough to guard him with his head, doing all that. But, yeah, I mean, he’s a great player,” Oubre said. “You know, we’ve played against him plenty of times, many of times. And, you know, we have to make the adjustments that we see on film. But, you know, kudos to him. He came out and started the series and did what they had to do at home. And, you know, it’s up to us to respond.”

Asked to weigh in on such a unique theory, Josh Hart wasn’t sure about how Brunson’s hairstyle impacted his offense, but noted his massive head should already be on the scouting report.

“I never noticed it, because if I did, I would have copied the same hairstyle and gotten a few more buckets or something. But it’s an interesting analysis,” Hart said. “I felt like that’s something that’s like very well documented. I don’t think that was any shocker when he said that one.”

Now granted, did Oubre Jr. mean that Brunson has a big head in terms of his ego? Or was his joke literal? Frankly, it’s hard to say, but it’s safe to say the Knicks are aware of the comments and will have jokes of their own when they take the court once more in Game 2.

“I felt like that’s something that’s like very well documented. I don’t think that was any shocker when he said that one.”
