Knicks’ Jordan Clarkson seemingly responds to James Dolan’s NSFW request before playoffs

After rumors circulated that James Dolan requested players practice celibacy for 10 weeks ahead of the NBA playoffs, New York Knicks bench player Jordan Clarkson seemingly broke his silence on the matter after the team’s championship win.

On Monday, June 15, 2026, just days removed from his team winning the NBA Finals, Clarkson wrote, “10 weeks,” on X, formerly Twitter. This seemingly was in response to the recent reports.

It was recently reported that Dolan spoke at a team meeting, factiously asking “the players to avoid fornication during the postseason.” Additionally, he asked them to work through issues “with direct conversations, rather than passive-aggressive comments to the media.”

Knicks fans were having a field day in the comments section of Clarkson’s post. The Knicks went 16-3 throughout the playoffs, sweeping the Philadelphia 76ers and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

They played short series, and one fan joked, “No wonder you guys wanted to get these series over with so quickly.” Another joked, “New Finals winning method just dropped.”

However, some were skeptical that the players listened to Dolan. One fan commented, “Ain’t no way everyone stuck to it.” Someone else called out Clarkson directly, saying, “I KNOW you didn’t last no 10 weeks bruh.”

Regardless of whether or not the players fulfilled Dolan’s request, the Knicks won a championship. This was the franchise’s first title since 1973, making it a long time coming.

During the regular season, Clarkson averaged 8.6 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. His points total was the lowest of his career, but he only averaged 17.8 minutes off the bench per game. He is long removed from the days of being a starter with the Los Angeles Lakers and the Utah Jazz.

In the postseason, he appeared in 18 games. He averaged 4.9 points per game in the postseason, though he only made 21.1% of his three-pointers. Nonetheless, his season ended with him hoisting the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
