Kevin Love opens up about Jazz future before free agency
Kevin Love provided his stance on his future in the NBA as he enters free agency this offseason following his campaign with the Utah Jazz.
Love completed his 18th season in the league, his first with the Jazz. He completed a contract he last signed with the Miami Heat before they sent him to Utah in the 2025 offseason.
Love reflected on his 2025-26 season with the Jazz during the team’s exit interviews on Monday. He revealed he has enjoyed the experience of being with the Utah community and hopes to extend his career as long as he can before going into retirement.
“I was very surprised and welcomed with open arms by everyone. I’ve been on record saying I’ve had a truly great experience here and that has remained throughout the course of this year, even with the circumstances we find ourselves in, and trying to reload for next year and for the future,” Love said.
“I don’t know what the future holds for me, but I would hope that whether it be the front office or ownership or the coaching staff, and all the powers that be would look at me as a bet that they would think to bring me in. I know I have a lot to give, even if that’s not playing. And I know each and every teammate there would say the same. And I can leave here knowing that I poured everything into each one of these guys, just trying to help them, personally and professionally.”

What lies ahead for Kevin Love, Jazz

Kevin Love played in 37 games this season with the Jazz, producing 6.7 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. As a free agent this summer, his status will be worth keeping track of.
Utah ended the season with a 22-60 record, being at the bottom of the Western Conference standings. They are under the likes of the Sacramento Kings and the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Jazz will continue building the roster in the offseason through the draft and free agency. They hope to get back to their first playoffs since 2022 in the 2026-27 campaign.
