Josh Hart at a loss for words over 1-of-9 Game 3 clunker that cost Knicks vs. Hawks
Josh Hart showcased disappointment towards himself after struggling in the New York Knicks’ 109-108 loss to the Atlanta Hawks in Game 3 of the first-round series on Thursday night.
Hart is going through the ninth season of his NBA career, his fourth with the Knicks. He has risen as one of the premier two-way players in the league, providing valuable playmaking and defense for New York.
However, he had a woeful night after reaching double figures in the first two games of the series. In 40 minutes of action, he only had two points, nine rebounds, six assists, and two steals. He shot 1-of-9 from the field, including 0-of-4 from beyond the arc. He didn’t hold back on his struggles while conversing with media in the locker room after the game, via SNY Knicks.
“I just…they just didn’t go. I thought the corner one was good. I gotta make ’em,” Hart said.

How Josh Hart, Knicks played against Hawks
One more made shot would’ve made the difference for Josh Hart and the Knicks, falling to the Hawks in stunning fashion in Game 3.
New York struggled throughout the game as Atlanta led by as much as 18 points. Despite the Knicks’ efforts in rallying back, CJ McCollum made a go-ahead shot in the final seconds to help the Hawks pull away with the win. Not only that, but Jalen Brunson committed a costly turnover that could have been a potential game-winner for New York.
Four players reached double-digits for New York in the loss. OG Anunoby led the team with 29 points, nine rebounds and three blocks. He shot 9-of-16 overall, including 4-of-8 from downtown, and 7-of-7 from the free-throw line. Jalen Brunson had 26 points and four assists, Karl-Anthony Towns put up 21 points and 17 rebounds, while Miles McBride provided 15 points and two steals.
The Knicks hope to avoid a 3-1 series deficit by evening it up at two games apiece against the Hawks. Game 4 will take place on April 25 at 6 p.m. ET.
