Jordyn Tyson emerges as early Giants No. 10 favorite after Dexter Lawrence trade

The New York Giants appear to have someone potentially lined up after their Dexter Lawrence trade. New York obtained the No. 10 selection with the deal it made to the Cincinnati Bengals. Now Jordyn Tyson of Arizona State enters the picture.

NFL Network insiders Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport revealed how the incoming rookie landed on the Giants’ radar.

“Giants GM Joe Schoen flew to Arizona to attend Jordan Tyson’s workout yesterday. Schoen also had dinner with Tyson the night before, sources told me and Ian Rapoport,” Garafolo shared via X, formerly Twitter. “With NYG at 10 after the Dexter Lawrence, Tyson’s odds of being a top 10 pick have now increased significantly.”

This intel paints the picture NYG will turn to offense with the extra pick.

New York still holds selection No. 5 even after the Bengals deal. Ohio State star Sonny Styles rose as a possibility for fifth overall Friday. Lawrence’s exit further fuels the notion NYG goes defense first still.

But now the Giants and head coach John Harbaugh can turn to offense at No. 10. Hence why Tyson looks like he’s high on the Giants’ draft board.

New York must prepare if Tyson is taken early, though. The New Orleans Saints are one team WR needy especially with their own second-year quarterback at the helm. Tyler Shough could have someone to throw to opposite of Chris Olave. The Cleveland Browns are another needing wideouts with Tyson as a possibility there.

Harbaugh and general manager Joe Schoen still have a deep WR class to pluck from. But fans are bracing for Tyson to New York.
