Joe Burrow’s Hall of Fame chances get stark reality check from FS1 analyst

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has received some criticism this offseason from several different analysts. While there has been some pushback from the talking heads about Burrow’s ranking amongst quarterbacks in the league, another analyst hops on the criticism train, this time proclaiming that the 29-year-old signal-caller is not on track for the NFL Hall of Fame.

During a segment on “First Things First” on FS1, analyst Chris Broussard admitted he has a difficult time seeing Burrow find his way into Canton once his career is said and done. While Broussard acknowledges that the soon-to-be seven-year veteran is a highly talented quarterback, the injuries and number of missed games in his career are hurting Burrow’s Hall of Fame chances.

“No, not at all,” Broussard said when asked if he thinks Burrow is on a Hall of Fame trajectory. “Now, he is a Hall of Fame talent, a Hall of Fame caliber player, but so far, he is not on a trajectory… Joe Burrow’s never been All-Pro.

“He’s never been top three in the MVP race,” Broussard continued. “He’s played only three full seasons in his career. He’s only won more than 10 games once. And he’s made the playoffs two times in six years. How in the world does that speak to Hall of Fame trajectory?”

Joe Burrow has pretty much everything going against him for a potential spot in the Hall of Fame. Regardless, when he is at the top of his game, he is arguably one of the best quarterbacks in the league. But consistency is what gets you to the HOF, and that is something the former first-round pick lacks in his career so far due to the string of injuries.

Burrow played eight games for the Bengals last season as he was dealing with a severe grade-three turf-toe injury. When on the field, he was great, finishing the campaign with 1,809 passing yards and 17 touchdowns while completing 66.8% of his pass attempts and only committing five interceptions.
