Sean McVay and the Los Angeles Rams soon will put a bow on NFL Training Camp. Which featured a rejuvenated Myles Garrett during his first Rams camp following the massive June 1 trade with the Cleveland Browns. Even the edge rusher pulled off a “freaky” camp moment that impressed his newest head coach.

McVay described what Garrett accomplished during his appearance on Inside Rams Camp Friday.

“Did you see, when we had the slide to him and a chip [block], and he had six hands on him. And he still found a way to win? That was freaky,” McVay said.

That practice sequence McVay described verbally illustrates the impact Garrett has provided already. He’s one who’ll command attention and still do everything in his power to win, even if he’s got little help.

That sounds similar to what Aaron Donald faced when he was in his prime. Donald drew between four to six hands during game days and still did everything in his power to win that battle. Rams fans are still visualizing seeing Donald return to link with Garrett, with a Thursday tryout sparking the theory of a return.

But Garrett rose as the star defensive attraction as LA awaits a decision from Donald. The focus soon shifts to Garrett resting up for the Rams’ three August preseason games. He’s likely to be on the sidelines when LA has its preseason opener on Aug. 15 against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.

McVay and LA will aim at getting Garrett ready for the San Francisco 49ers on Sept. 10 in Melbourne, Australia.
