Jets re-sign goalie to one-year contract

The Winnipeg Jets have retained goaltender Isaac Poulter, agreeing to a one-year, two-way contract extension for the 2026-27 season with an NHL average annual value of $855,000, the team announced on Thursday. This is the second consecutive one-year contract Poulter has signed with the organization.

The 24-year-old Winnipeg native spent most of the 2025-26 campaign with the ECHL’s Norfolk Admirals, where he appeared in 43 games and compiled a 25-17-1 record. Poulter also recorded two shutouts, along with a 2.76 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage. He additionally saw limited action with the AHL’s Manitoba Moose, appearing in three games and finishing with a 2-0-0 record, a 2.83 GAA, and an .885 save percentage.

Poulter originally entered professional hockey as an undrafted free agent after completing his junior career with the WHL’s Swift Current Broncos. In his final WHL season in 2021-22, he appeared in 49 games and finished with a 20-23-6 record, a 3.00 GAA, a .911 save percentage, and five shutouts.

After signing with the New Jersey Devils organization in 2022, Poulter split the 2022-23 season between the AHL’s Utica Comets and the ECHL’s Adirondack Thunder. He went 7-3-3 with a 3.62 GAA and .883 save percentage in 13 appearances for Utica, while posting a 10-8-2 record, 2.93 GAA, and .910 save percentage in 22 games for Adirondack.

Poulter’e best AHL season came in 2023-24 when he went 17-8-1 in 28 games with Utica, along with a 2.55 GAA and .911 save percentage. He also excelled during Adirondack’s playoff run, going 7-8 in 15 postseason appearances with a 1.86 GAA and .939 save percentage. Poulter followed that with a 16-13-6 record, a 2.86 GAA, and a .898 save percentage across 36 games with Utica in 2024-25.

After becoming an unrestricted free agent when New Jersey declined to qualify him, Poulter joined his hometown Jets organization in July 2025. Across 80 career AHL games, he owns a 42-24-10 record with five shutouts, a 2.88 goals-against average, and a .899 save percentage.
