Jaxson Dart pulled from massive brawl in Giants-Dolphins practice as punches thrown
Tension had been building throughout the New York Giants joint practice with the Miami Dolphins and it exploded in dramatic fashion
Giants wide receiver Calvin Austin III took exception to a late hit from a Dolphins defensive back, and a scrum quickly formed.
Backup quarterback Jameis Winston found himself in the middle, and after absorbing a hard hit, allegedly knocked a Dolphins player to the ground.
Things continued to intensify, with Giants defensive players rushing over from the adjacent field.
“Staff members held back quarterback Jaxson Dart to keep him clear of the action,” Den Benton of Giants Wire wrote.
Giants offensive lineman J.C. Davis, and Dolphins players Keith Cooper Jr., Ronnie Harrison Jr., and Zeek Biggers were also involved.
Order was quickly restored and the teams returned to the field to continue their session.
Tensions had risen earlier in practice, when Abdul Carter threw a punch at Dolphins left tackle Patrick Paul.
The Palm Beach Post noted that there had been a “verbal battle” between the pair at practice.
“The linemen from both teams came together, but it was just a lot of trash talking,” Joe Schad and Hal Habib wrote.
The Dolphins and Giants are set to play in the latest round of pre-season on Saturday.
All eyes will be on whether this intensity causes further brawls during the game at Hard Rock Stadium.

Jaxson Dart’s health key to Giants 2026
Any potential injury to Dart ahead of his second season in the league is the last thing the Giants need.
During his rookie campaign, he threw for 2,272 yards, 487 rushing yards, accumulating 24 total touchdowns, but was a regular visitor in the blue medical tent.
Dart underwent five separate concussion evaluations, though he was officially diagnosed only once.
