Jalen Brunson supports Mariska Hargitay on Broadway

After Mariska Hargitay has been supporting Jalen Brunson throughout the season, the New York Knicks star returned the favor.

Brunson made a surprise appearance on Friday, June 26, during Hargitay’s performance in Every Brilliant Thing, the hit solo play the Law and Order: SVU star has been performing in since May 26.

Hargitay, who is a Knicks fan, gave a not-so-subtle hint during her performance when her character pulls out items from her list as her character does towards the end of every play. However, this time she pulled out Brunson’s Knicks jersey and listed the entry as “No. 555,555: Knicks in Five.”

Brunson attended the play alongside his wife, Ali Brunson, and according to People, they sat in the center orchestra and were smiling throughout the play.

“It was so sweet,” a source told the outlet. “He was congratulating her and telling her how much he loved the show. She was so thrilled he was there. You could see how much admiration they have for one another.”

After the play, Jalen, Ali, Hargitay, and her husband, Peter Hermann, posed for a photo together.

Hargitay has been at several Knicks games during their playoff run in support of Brunson. She actually sprinted 10 blocks from her show to watch Game 4 of the Knicks and San Antonio Spurs face off during the NBA Finals. The veteran actress also sat next to Taylor Swift courtside where they wore matching “Stevie Knicks” shirts. Prior to her Game 4 appearance, she also attended Game 3 of the NBA Finals and Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Brunson is a huge fan of Hargitay and her series Law & Order: SVU which has been running for 26 seasons. After the Knicks clinched their first NBA championship title in 53 years, Brunson shared that he would love to guest star on the hit show. Law & Order: SVU is the longest-running primetime live-action series in U.S. television history and has had several athletes on past seasons. Serena Williams appeared in a season 5 episode of the crime drama and Knicks alum Carmelo Anthony also starred during season 13 episode. Brunson however hasn’t been confirmed to be on the next season of the hit drama yet, but it’s only a matter of time before he gets a call.
