Inside unopened 2030 Super Bowl host stadium that costs $2.2bn and will feature NFL first
It’s a new dawn in Nashville.
Tennessee Titans fans haven’t had much to shout about on the field in recent years, but there’s hope the struggling NFL franchise can turn a corner in 2026.

Over $270 million was splurged in free agency to build a team around former No. 1 draft pick Cam Ward.
And the transformations are not limited to the roster, with a stunning new home being built in the shadow of Nissan Stadium.
Expected to open in 2027, the ‘new Nissan Stadium’ project has cost $2.2 billion.
The NFL announced Tuesday that the Titans’ new home will host Super Bowl LXIV in 2030.
“This is the next great step in a remarkable football journey, and a great community in Nashville. We can’t wait to be there,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said, officially confirming the big news.
“It’s going to be an absolutely spectacular event.”
But what, exactly, can fans expect when they head to Nashville for the Super Bowl in 2030?

The new Nissan Stadium, designed by Manica, is still under construction and is expected to be completed in February next year.
It’s been described as ‘extraordinary’ venue that will soon become Nashville’s biggest stage.
Most notably, the building will feature a circular-shaped, high-tech ETFE translucent roof, meaning players and fans will be protected from the weather.

While the new Nissan Stadium will have a capacity of around 60,000 seats, making it the smallest in the NFL, the Titans have promised league-leading sight-lines for all.
“Say goodbye to the ‘nosebleed seats’ — they don’t exist here,” a statement on the venue’s website confirms.
“This stadium offers the closest viewing experience of any NFL stadium with seats that are 38 percent closer to the field than the current Nissan Stadium.”
While the dome will keep adverse weather out, fans will also be able to take advantage of ‘expansive patio spaces’ close to the field when the sun shines down. Those areas are complete with panoramic views of Nashville.
New Titans stadium will host events beyond NFL
At approximately 2.1 million square feet, the new Nissan Stadium will be a venue used far beyond Titans games and the Super Bowl.
True to the Music City theme of Nashville, the stadium will feature dedicated concert-production infrastructure, including the NFL’s first permanent in-bowl stage.

The main stage, which will be built on the second seating tier, will be visible to every seat in the house, and will have its own green room.
The Titans have described their new stadium as a ‘game-changing facility’ for the City of Nashville and larger Tennessee region, which will be ‘capable of hosting the world’s greatest events.’
The Super Bowl, of course, is one of those great events — and the countdown is now on for Nashville.
“This city does creativity so well, this city dreams big,” Titans President and CEO Burke Nihill said Tuesday.

” So, in terms of what a Super Bowl looks like in Nashville, and what’s different about it, we’re about to start having that kind of fun.
“But this is also about doing a job so well that the NFL, by the time they are picking up their suitcases and headed to the airport after (Super Bowl LXIV), they cannot wait to come back.
“And that requires quite a bit of creativity, grit and collaboration to pull off… and that is certainly the goal.”
Nashville joins a Super Bowl lineup behind SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, where next year’s big game will be played.
In 2028, Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta will host Super Bowl LXII, and the game will head to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas come 2029.
