How Drake Maye truly feels about having AJ Brown on Patriots roster

Nobody is happier that AJ Brown is on the New England Patriots roster than quarterback Drake Maye. Maye is going to have a new top target to throw to after the team released Stefon Diggs back in March.

Brown will bring a similar style of play to Diggs as a pass catcher with the ability to do a lot of damage with the ball in his hands. Maye and head coach Mike Vrabel are already in awe of what Brown is showing around the team. Vrabel recently gave his impression of the Maye-Brown duo.

“They found each other a couple times yesterday in the red zone,” said Vrabel about Maye and Brown. “I think it’s just a work in progress.”

Vrabel isn’t going to show much emotion this early in Phase 3 of OTAs.

On Wednesday, Vrabel’s QB, Maye, expressed his real excitement about having Brown as a teammate.

“It’s hard not to get excited,” Maye said. “With just the type of player he is, what a great teammate so far. He’s great with the guys in the locker room, and we look forward to playing with a guy of that caliber.”

“He’s been a great part of this league. Everywhere he has gone, he has been a winner.”

Brown and fellow rising star receiver Kayshon Boutte will turn into a strong duo this season. Boutee recently shared that he wants to stay in New England and wants no part of a trade. It would not make sense to trade another strong target for Maye as the Pats aim to get back to the Super Bowl once again.
