Guardians’ Travis Bazzana reveals the real secret behind his success

The Cleveland Guardians have one of the best young players in all of MLB on their roster. Infielder Travis Bazzana is establishing himself as a legitimate Rookie of the Year candidate. He is performing especially well in recent action, and Bazzana has even been moved up to first in the lineup. The 2024 No. 1 overall pick recently revealed what drives his success, via The Daily Guards.

“I think that is what put me on a good path in baseball is that I just love playing the game,” Bazzana said. “Every time I’m out on the field I’m just playing with passion and wanting to impact the game.”

Bazzana, 23, is hitting .302/.407/.458 to go along with three home runs, six doubles and seven stolen bases. The second baseman is capable of impacting the game in multiple ways.

“If I can get on base and impact the game with my wheels, that’s very important,” Bazzana added. “Just trying to make the most of every at-bat. Not give any days away. I think that’s one thing that (Jose Ramirez) does so well is every single day he plays his heart out. So trying to replicate that.”

Replicating Jose Ramirez’s approach to the game is certainly a good strategy. Ramirez has established himself as one of the best players in Guardians history. Travis Bazzana features the potential to accomplish a similar feat in the future. His ceiling is extremely high without question.

For now, Bazzana is focused on improving and helping Cleveland win baseball games this season.
