George Kittle snaps back at Brandon Aiyuk’s ‘Go Commanders’ video
The San Francisco 49ers cannot escape the drama surrounding Brandon Aiyuk. In a new development, the disgruntled wide receiver posted a video where he chanted “Go Commanders” as he attempts to force his way off the 49ers. One 49ers veteran made it clear that he is not happy about the Aiyuk situation.
49ers tight end George Kittle spoke honestly when talking about Aiyuk’s latest video during a recent interview.
“I used to make it a habit of mine to go out early in the morning before meetings to watch him train because he’d always be out there early, and I watched him run over 22 miles an hour and watched him stop on a dime,” Kittle said when asked about Aiyuk on Pardon My Take. “He’s still got it, but that was eight months ago, so I don’t really know. You guys have fun with that, I guess … You have fun with all that comes with it.”
Kittle was responding to a question about what Aiyuk looked like the last time he saw him on the field. The question came from a Commanders fan, which explains what he meant by his “you have fun” comment.
But Kittle also took another shot at Aiyuk when responding to the notion that Aiyuk will be happy once he joins the Commanders.
“You’re right. I wouldn’t be happy either after a team paid me a $130 million,” Kittle added.
Aiyuk signed a four-year, $120 million extension with the 49ers before the 2024 season. Since signing that contract, Aiyuk has only produced 25 receptions for 374 receiving yards. It is understandable that Kittle would be sour about Aiyuk seemingly getting paid and then abandoning his teammates.
At this point, there appears to be no end in sight for this Aiyuk-related drama.
