Flyers’ Owen Tippett reveals scary ailment that kept him out of Round 2

Rumors suggested that Owen Tippett’s mysterious injury that kept him out of the second round for the Philadelphia Flyers was a sports hernia. Tippett may also have had a sports hernia, but an internal bleeding issue during the first round against the Pittsburgh Penguins kept him out of the lineup against the Carolina Hurricanes in Round 2. Tippett skated with the Flyers at times during the second round, but he wasn’t able to get to a point where he was able to take contact and play in a real game.

The speedy forward had a great regular season for Philadelphia, but his play dropped off down the stretch, prompting questions about whether he was dealing with an injury.
