Fever’s Aliyah Boston drops Caitlin Clark truth bomb after wild ending vs. Mystics

The Indiana Fever completed a remarkable win over the Washington Mystics after Caitlin Clark drilled a long three-pointer with just 1.2 seconds left on the clock. Washington initially fought back from a 51-35 deficit before a strong showing from the Mystics’ bench allowed the game to go deep into the fourth quarter.

Speaking after the game, Aliyah Boston lauded her teammate Clark, suggesting that it was usual business for the franchise icon, per a post on X by the Fever.

“I mean are we surprised? Caitlin Clark is Caitlin Clark, and she does that. I mean, she is a shooter, and you can’t leave her that open.” Boston said.

The Mystics came into this game after a 32-point blowout loss against the Atlanta Dream and looked primed for another big loss. However, led by Michaela Onyenwere, Washington came back to lead by a single point with around 40 seconds left in the fourth quarter.

Onyenwere top-scored for her team with 17 points, with Shakira Austin finishing with almost a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds. The Fever, however, eventually found the answers.

After a first quarter that saw her produce 10 points, Clark left her best for late-game. She finished with 19 points and five assists off just 7-16 shooting, once again showing that she does not need to be at her best to win her team games.

She was ably supported by the rest of Indiana’s stars, with Boston herself finishing with 14 points and 10 rebounds off 4-7 shooting. Meanwhile, Kelsey Mitchell had 15 points, three assists and two rebounds while Sophie Cunningham returned with eight points and three assists.

The Fever moved past the 50% mark with the win, and now boast of a 6-5 record while the Mystics fell to 4-6 for the season. Indiana will take on the Chicago Sky, next. Meanwhile, the Mystics will now host the Toronto Tempo looking to avoid a third loss on the trot.
