A new report reveals potential insight into the wedding plans for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, which has gotten fans in a fury.

The New York Times reported on June 24 that a permit has been filed for street closures around Madison Square Garden in Midtown Manhattan from July 2 to around noon on July 4 for a July 3 event, citing three anonymous sources. The request also includes capacity between 500 and 999 people, as well as tents outside of the iconic venue.

Additionally, Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs teammates have booked hotel rooms for dates around July 3 at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square, according to the outlet.

The last clue is that an unnamed city official told the outlet that “Madison Square Garden is planning to host the wedding festivities on July 3.”

This follows when NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani seemingly hinted at their wedding in the city this summer.

“We are the biggest city in the country, we are used to big events, and we are incredibly excited for this one,” he said. “We know it coincides with the Knicks’ Finals run, we know it coincides with July 4th, America 250, Taylor Swift’s wedding, all happening at the same time. We’re so excited to welcome the world here.”

While it hasn’t been confirmed that Swift and Kelce will be getting married at MSG, the internet has some takes about the location. Many users on social media are complaining about the already congested area with others sharing that it would be too much of a spectacle. However, several fans are excited that the wedding will be happening in New York City and are wishing the couple well in their life together.

“I can’t imagine saying how my relationship isn’t a spectacle and then going to one of the world’s most famous arenas in one of the busiest cities in the world and then shutting down roads for myself. She has well and truly drank her own KOOL-AID,” one fan complained on X.

“Close the streets when people are trying to get to Amtrak and NJ Transit for the holiday weekend. So considerate,” another fan wrote.

Another fan is ready for the excitement that the couple’s nuptials will bring in the pop culture and sports world, “Wedding of the century is about to go down,” the fan wrote.

Regardless of what others might think of the potential wedding location, Swift and Kelce have not shared any information confirming the news in relation to their upcoming nuptials.

Kelce proposed to Swift  back in August after two years of dating. He recently celebrated his bachelor party in Los Angeles and San Diego over the weekend.
