Ex-player reveals what Giants’ Rafael Devers must do after calling out media

It has not been an easy season for the San Francisco Giants, as they currently sit at 33-46 and in fourth place in the NL West, 18 games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers for first. Likewise, it’s been a struggle for Rafael Devers. After Devers blasted the media, an ex-player has come out and outlined what he must and needs to do to rectify the situation.

Erik Kratz, a former ballplayer, talked about Devers. He discussed how he should approach media availability and what he needs to say. Kratz also explained how Devers could address this, mainly by disproving what the media is saying. He indicated that Devers needed to directly confront the media members, and that would open up a two-way conversation.

Devers started the week highlighting that he felt slighted, and the media was not treating him well. Much of this stems from the Giants’ decision to pinch-run for him. There was fervor among the media, and that may have slighted the former All-Star. Additionally, the Giants’ continued struggles were not making things any easier. The Giants have gone 5-5 in their past 10 games, and that has not allowed them to make up any ground.

Devers has not had the best season, batting .240 with 10 home runs, 35 RBIs, and 34 runs. If he continues on this trajectory, he would finish with a .238 batting average with 23 home runs, 73  RBIs, and 75 runs, which would be below his numbers from last season. Ultimately, it’s been frustrating for him, and that frustration has seemingly boiled over for the Giants’ slugger.
