Eagles training camp descends into chaos with huge fight and Saquon Barkley injury scare

The final day of Philadelphia Eagles training camp was certainly an eventful one.

A serious fight between defensive tackle Moro Ojomo and offensive tackle Fred Johnson reportedly overshadowed proceedings.

The altercation begun during team drills, when Ojomo took exception to a late shove by Johnson and squared up to him.

It quickly settled and the coaches decided to keep both players in for the next play, a decision that proved costly.

Johnson blocked Ojomo to the ground and landed on him before punches were thrown.

After the pair were separated by teammates, Ojomo found his way through a crowd and dove at Johnson’s knees, bringing the 6-foot-7 tackle to the ground.

Players and staff members jumped back into the scuffle to separate the two once again.

Once separated, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman, head coach Nick Sirianni, and chief security officer Dom DiSandro surrounded Johnson in an attempt to calm him down.

Roseman also spoke to Ojomo before returning to Johnson on the training pads for five minutes.

Team drills were halted after the conclusion of the fight and, after a group huddle to reset, it continued without Ojomo and Johnson.

“I’m just so excited to see all the guys compete,” Sirianni said.

“At the end of the day, this business is for people that are ultra-competitive,” Sirianni said before Thursday’s session.

“And it’s always good to go against somebody else. Sometimes at this point of camp, you’re like, ‘Man, I just want to hit somebody else and go against somebody else.'”

“It’s camp — that’s the way of brothers saying I love you in a different way, honestly,” running back Tank Bigsby said after practice, via The Athletic.

Saquon Barkley suffers injury scare during team drills

The intense altercation between Ojomo and Johnson wasn’t the only noticeable moment from Day 11.

Saquon Barkley, one of talkSPORT’s top-ranked running backs for 2026, impressed against Philadelphia’s defense during team drills, but in 11-on-11’s, he appeared to tweak his left foot.

NBC Sports reported that Barkley’s cleat came off while trainers examined his foot.

‘Quadzilla’ Barkley, who is entering his third season with the Eagles, is arguably their most important weapon.

He rushed for 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns while adding 278 receiving yards and two scores in 2024, but couldn’t match that incredible production in 2025.

There are options behind him if the prognosis isn’t the best.

Tank Bigsby, Will Shipley, Dameon Pierce, Carson Steele and Ja’Quinden Jackson make up a experienced RB room.

With camp officially wrapped, Sirianni’s squad heads into the preseason opener against the Baltimore Ravens high on intensity.

However, watching their marquee running back hobble off the field provided a sharp reminder of how quickly a team’s championship aspirations can be tested.
