Eagles’ Saquon Barkley home burglary story gets huge development with arrest

A major development has emerged in the aftermath of an attempted break-in at Philadelphia Eagles superstar running back Saquon Barkley’s home.

A man has been arrested on Wednesday and is facing charges in connection with the attempted break-in of Barkley’s residence, according to NBC10 Philadelphia.

The suspect arrested is 24-year-old Jabir Parker, of Philadelphia, according to officials.

The attempted burglary happened on July 18. Barkley and his family were inside the house when the incident took place but were unharmed.

Authorities uncovered Parker’s whereabouts, thanks in part to his cell phone and car providing key evidence that led to his arrest.

The attempted robbery of Barkley’s home is clearly an unwanted episode in his offseason, but he’s now turning his focus on what’s ahead of him and Philadelphia in the 2026 NFL season.

The Eagles are once again expected to be among the chief contenders for the Super Bowl, and Barkley is a huge part of that mission. Philadelphia won the Super Bowl in the 2024 season but failed to advance past the NFC Wild Card Round, where the Eagles lost to the San Francisco 49ers.

In the 2025 NFL campaign, Barkley’s second with the Eagles, the three-time Pro Bowler running back burned rubber for a total of 1,140 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 280 carries, along with 273 receiving yards and two scores on 37 catches and 50 targets across 16 games.

The Eagles, who went winless in three preseason games, will kick off their 2026 NFL campaign on Sept. 13 against the Washington Commanders at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
