E-40 warns Bay Area women amid fake 49ers player Daejon Love

E-40 is just trying to look out for Bay Area women.

The “Tell Me When to Go” rapper is giving out a PSA to women amid the viral fake San Francisco 49ers player, Daejon Love, who was allegedly requesting money from women who are based in the Bay Area.

“If he don’t know Water, if he don’t know 40 Water, and he claims 49er, if I ain’t never heard of him or met him, he’s not a Niner,” 40 told TMZ in an interview published today.

40 shared that he would have given the women some advice before losing out on thousands of dollars.

“They should have asked me before they gave him the money or whatever and all the scamming s***,” the rapper added.

Who is Daejon Love?

Love went viral after several women came online with similar stories about how he posed as a 49ers wide receiver and allegedly conned over a dozen women out of money. He is accused of defrauding 26 women out of $1.3 million ESPN reports. However, federal investigators claim that the alleged victim count could be higher than reported.

While 40 is looking out for the Bay Area victims, the women Love allegedly targeted were stemmed from not only California, but Idaho, Washington, and Oregon. The women believed that he was investing the money but he allegedly pocketed their “investments.”

Love was arrested along with Taylor Jamie Chan, 18, by the FBI on Aug. 24 at Boise Airport, Idaho. Chan’s role in the alleged scheme is that he was Love’s “financial advisor.”

“Love convinced many of the victims they were in sincere romantic relationships with Love, that he was a sophisticated investor, and that Chan was his investment adviser who helped Love grow a fortune worth tens of millions of dollars,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office statement said. “Love had romantic relationships with many of the victims and told them he wanted to build wealth and a future together. Love advertised nonexistent investment vehicles and claimed these investments would generate massive returns for both him and his victims.”

The two face charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and wire fraud in the U.S. District of Oregon. They are currently in federal custody in Boise.
