Dwight Howard restraining order on wife Amy Luciani gets an update
Dwight Howard and Amy Luciani are reportedly moving on.
According to the former NBA star’s attorney, Gillian B. Fierer, per TMZ, the protective order was dropped as “the first step in the process to an amicable resolution” of the divorce. The move is not out of the ordinary, as Fierer told the outlet that it is “quite common” for protective orders to be dropped to help speed up the divorce process. Howard is “asking the public for peace and privacy while he navigates the divorce,” Fierer shared with TMZ.
Howard filed the restraining order last week, where he accused his estranged wife of stalking and threatening to harm him. He also claimed that she had threatened him with “a knife, gun, or other deadly weapon.” She was ordered to stay 100 feet away from the NBA champion and his children after a judge signed off on the order earlier this week, per Us Weekly. She also cannot contact them via social media or phone and has to stay away from their Georgia residence as well as the kids’ private school.
In addition to allegedly threatening him with a deadly weapon, he also claimed that Luiciani (real name Amy Howard) has “killed or injured pets or threatened to do so.” Howard also claims that Luciani “defamed” him on social media last month by alleging he was using drugs and being abusive. The NBA champion denied those allegations shortly after her social media rant.
The NBA Hall of Famer filed for divorce for the second time against Luciani on March 9, describing the marriage as “irretrievably broken.” Both Howard and Luciani first filed for divorce back in July 2025, but ended up not going through with the divorce and rekindling their marriage. The couple got married in January 2025. Luciani has not spoken out amid following the restraining order update at this time.
