Coco Gauff’s mom addresses US Open ticket plea as Frances Tiafoe and Ben Shelton weigh in

Coco Gauff is out to win her second US Open crown in 2026.

The World No. 4 will no doubt have the crowd behind her at Flushing Meadows when the action gets under way this weekend, and mom Candi is excited to watch her tournament unfold.

But she won’t be able to hand out tickets to all those who have been asking.

Coco Gauff’s mom sends blunt message to followers asking for US Open tickets

Taking to social media Friday, Candi told her family and friends that she won’t be able to swing tickets for the tennis major.

“I apologize in advance for this blunt, but necessary statement,” she wrote in an Instagram post.

“I know you are very excited about Coco playing in the US Open. Me too!!! Coco’s guest ticket request have already been accounted for.

“Unfortunately, I will not be able to hook you up with a ticket. Please make arrangements to purchase a ticket.

“Side note, never ask for more than two tickets. Coco is grown now and she has her own friends that she is honoring tickets for the match.

“Thank you for your continued support.”

Candi message quickly went viral, and drew some amusing responses from those on the tour — including Coco herself.

“Lady,” the US star responded, with three laughing emojis. “You’re funny for this.”

Danielle Collins, a former Australian Open finalist, also jumped in.

“Honestly we all need a Candi Gauff in our life,” she said.

“Say it louder for the people in the back,” Jessica Pegula wrote.

Madison Keys described the post as ‘iconic’.

It wasn’t just the stars of the women’s tour who saw Candi’s message either.

Fellow American Frances Tiafoe also caught wind of Candi’s message, and shared his thoughts.

“That was the best thing I’ve ever seen. Unbelievable. I love everything about it,” he said.

Tiafoe also noted that managing ticket requests from friends and family, particularly at the US Open, can be quite the ordeal.

He suggested he’s considering sending the very same message to his close circle.

“I might get a screenshot of her post and do that,” Tiafoe said.

“Sometimes it’s a lot.”

Ben Shelton, meanwhile, also agreed with the sentiment.

“There you go, Ms. Gauff. I like that,” he said.

The Americans will be center of attention at a home major over the coming weeks. But for many players, any cheeky, last-minute ticket requests will be turned down.
