Dream’s Angel Reese accomplishes impressive feat against A’ja Wilson in strong performance
The WNBA is witnessing the historic surge in fan engagement and popularity it deserved for all those years. And the Atlanta Dream, as well as the Indiana Fever, are some of the key reasons fans are watching the game in huge numbers.
However, during the Dream’s latest victory over the Las Vegas Aces, franchise superstar Angel Reese accomplished her personal career feat. It was her first win against A’ja Wilson since her rookie season in the W.
Additionally, Reese scored 21 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and four steals in the 97-82 win against the Aces. Wilson was in charge of the counterattack and scored a side-leading 27 points in her 34 minutes of play.
The dominant performance comes amid the LSU alum’s surge over the past few years after the 2024 WNBA Draft. She is averaging 15.7 points, 12 rebounds, and 2.6 assists during the 34 games she has played for the Dream after her trade from the Chicago Sky.
Despite the criticism around her shooting slump and other antics, AR5 has been one of the top finds besides Clark. Though she has fans from across Atlanta and Chicago rooting for her, former NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal has been her avid supporter.
Shaq has defended her on multiple occasions. The two share a great bond given their association with Reebok. Reese is a prime face for the brand, and O’Neal serves as the President of Reebok Basketball.
That being said, the Dream will head to Los Angeles to play the Los Angeles Sparks on Thursday, August 20, at Crypto.com Arena.
