Draymond Green warns Knicks fans after JR Smith trampling

Draymond Green issued a warning to Knicks fans after former NBA guard JR Smith got mobbed outside Madison Square Garden following New York’s Game 1 playoff win over the Philadelphia 76ers.

The wild scene unfolded after the Knicks’ 137-98 victory, when excited fans surrounded Smith while he exited the arena. The crowd eventually caused the two-time NBA champion to fall to the ground as phones immediately came out to record the moment.

Smith later joked about the situation during FanDuel’s “Run It Back” with Michelle Beadle, Lou Williams, and Iman Shumpert.

“This society is so bad everybody just got their phone out,” Smith said. “I’m like, ‘Yo pull me up!’”

Draymond Green Tells Knicks Fans to Relax

Green reacted to the incident on “The Draymond Green Show,” where he told Knicks supporters they need to calm down despite the excitement surrounding the team’s playoff run.

“I saw y’all after Game 1, y’all had JR surrounded and all this stuff,” Green said. “I’m just saying you cannot celebrate these things like this.”

The Warriors star also joked that Knicks fans may already be celebrating too early after years of frustration.

“You have a parade after win a second round, how you going to win the conference finals, we had the parade already?” Green added.

Green then made it clear current Knicks players likely do not care about the franchise’s past struggles.

“Those current players don’t give a fu*k about your journey before,” Green said.

While things got chaotic outside the arena, the Knicks looked dominant on the court. Jalen Brunson credited the team’s chemistry and regular season work after New York opened the series with a commanding victory.
