Dodgers star Max Muncy’s ‘hate’ for cold weather didn’t slow him down vs. Rockies

Colorado received snow before the Los Angeles Dodgers and Colorado Rockies game on Friday night. Coors Field had cold weather to say the least, yet the Dodgers still managed to earn a victory. The Dodgers are obviously not used to frigid conditions in Los Angeles, but that did not stop them on Friday. Max Muncy played especially well despite his “hate” for the weather conditions in Colorado on Friday night, as he went 3-4 with two home runs.

“Oh no, I hate it,” Muncy said of the weather after the game at Coors Field, via SportsNet LA. “I think it’s just one of those things where you can’t feel anything in your body, so you don’t really know what you’re doing. You’re just going out there and playing and you’re not thinking about anything. There’s definitely a lesson to be taken from that.”

Muncy has performed well in 2026. He is now hitting .254/.338/.556 to go along with six home runs. The 35-year-old would be one of the best hitters on most teams in MLB. His performance sometimes gets overlooked on the Dodgers since they have so many talented hitters in the lineup, but Los Angeles understands how valuable he is to the ball club.

With the win, the Dodgers improved to 15-4 overall this season. The Dodgers currently have the best record in all of baseball.

Los Angeles will look to overcome the cold Colorado weather once again on Saturday night as they play the Rockies once again at Coors Field. First pitch is scheduled for 8:10 PM EST.
