Dodgers’ Miguel Rojas opens up about full-circle 1,000th MLB hit
After suffering two uncharacteristic losses over the weekend to the Colorado Rockies of all teams, the Los Angeles Dodgers restored order on Monday, demolishing the Rockies 12-3 in the final game of their four-game series. The Dodgers got huge performances from both Max Muncy and Miguel Rojas, who combined to hit 7-7 on the night to deliver blow after blow to the Rockies.
Rojas has hitting well this season; he entered the night with an OPS of .758, which is more than what the Dodgers expect out of their utility man. But everything simply came together for Rojas on Monday; he needed just two hits to cross the 1,000-hit mark for his career and he got just that and then some.
After the game, Rojas reflected on his big-league journey, as it was in Coors Field back in 2014 during his first stint with the Dodgers when he got his first career hit in the big leagues.
“It means a lot. I received an opportunity 13 years ago by this organization. Especially remembering this special ballpark because that’s when I got my first hit. All it took was an opportunity. Playing in the big leagues is the first goal that everybody has. And then you start putting more goals in your career,” Rojas told Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA.
“This is a special place for me and my family just remembering everything that happened 13 years ago. And now getting the opportunity to do this here, it means a lot.”

Rojas got his first hit in MLB back on June 8, 2014, when he started at third base for the Dodgers in a 6-1 victory. He played just one year for LA before he was involved in the trade that brought the likes of Kike Hernandez, Austin Barnes, and Andrew Heaney to the Dodgers.
The versatile infielder then spent 2015 to 2022 with the Miami Marlins before he found his way back to the Dodgers. And then in 2025, he became the hero for LA in their World Series triumph against the Toronto Blue Jays — becoming a full-on legend for the franchise in the process.
