Dodgers’ Dave Roberts reveals ‘hope’ for Tyler Glasnow in highly anticipated return

Tuesday is a special night for the Los Angeles Dodgers as it marks the return of one of their key assets after a long absence. Tyler Glasnow, who last toed the rubber on May 6 against the Houston Astros at Daikin Park in Houston, is set for a return to action in Tuesday’s series opener against the Atlanta Braves.

The game, which will be at Truist Park in Atlanta, has Dodgers fans excited.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, meanwhile, revealed what he expects from Glasnow in his first MLB appearance in a while.

“Seeing him getting into the 6th inning is our hope, our goal… Tyler’s anxious to get back,” Roberts told reporters before the game (h/t SportsNet LA).

The reigning World Series champions finally activated Glasnow from the 60-day injured list ahead of the Braves series, paving the way for him to make his first start since that meeting with the Astros.

Glasnow landed on the IL with back issues and made multiple rehab starts. In four starts in the minors, he gave up just two earned runs through 13 2/3 innings of work. In what was his final rehab start, he lasted 5 1/3 frames and threw a total of 77 pitches.

Glasnow rejoins the Dodgers amid the team’s hot stretch, and he will look to do his part in sustaining Los Angeles’ form.

The Dodgers enter the Atlanta series on a six-game winning streak and an 80-51 record.

Before he was placed on the IL, the 33-year-old Glasnow went 3-0 with a 2.72 ERA in three starts in the 2026 MLB season.
