Dodgers’ Andy Pages, Max Muncy smash back-to-back home runs vs. freeway rival Angels
The Los Angeles Dodgers opened the Freeway Series with a 6-0 shutout win over the Los Angeles Angels on Friday night at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, improving to 27-18 and securing their first three-game winning streak in May.
Just hours before first pitch, Blake Snell landed on the injured list because of loose bodies in his elbow, forcing Los Angeles into a bullpen game. In total, eight pitchers combined to complete nine shutout innings while allowing just two hits.
Will Klein opened the game with two scoreless innings, recording two strikeouts and allowing only one hit. He was followed by Edgardo Henriquez, who struck out Mike Trout and later earned the win, improving to 2-0. Seven additional relievers contributed, including Blake Treinen, Wyatt Mills, Kyle Hurt, Alex Vesia, Jack Dreyer, and Charlie Barnes, who made his Dodgers debut with a hitless ninth inning.
The Dodgers’ offense produced three home runs. Andy Pages broke the game open in the fourth inning with a 407-foot, three-run home run, his 10th of the season, after entering the game in a slump at the plate. Max Muncy followed three pitches later with a 383-foot solo homer to right field, his 12th home run of the year.

Teoscar Hernandez added a two-run homer in the sixth inning, a 372-foot shot that ended his 23-game home run drought and gave him his fifth home run of the season.
Shohei Ohtani contributed with his 200th career double, while Hyeseong Kim got Los Angeles’ offense started with the first hit of the game. Ohtani also drew a walk in the third inning.
For Los Angeles, Jack Kochanowicz allowed six runs on seven hits over six innings, while catcher Logan O’Hoppe exited the game in the sixth inning with left wrist irritation. The Angels have now lost four straight games and six of their last seven.
Up next, Justin Wrobleski (5-1, 2.42 ERA, 0.99 WHIP) will start for the Dodgers against Jose Soriano (6-2, 1.66 ERA, 1.05 WHIP) as they look to take the series on Saturday.
