David Beckham, Timothée Chalamet link up Spain-France World Cup match

David Beckham and Timothée Chalamet produced one of the more unexpected crossover moments of the World Cup during Spain’s 2-0 semifinal victory over France, TheSun reports.

The cameras found the English soccer icon speaking with the “Dune” star inside the VIP section during the second half. Beckham dressed for the occasion in a suit, while Chalamet showed where his loyalty stood by wearing France gear.

Beckham attended with his wife, Victoria Beckham, joining a collection of recognizable faces at Kansas City Stadium. Yet his conversation with Chalamet quickly became the celebrity sighting that caught fans by surprise.

On the field, Spain gave the famous spectators plenty to discuss. Mikel Oyarzabal opened the scoring before halftime, then Pedro Porro added another goal after the break to secure Spain’s place in the World Cup final.

Timothée Chalamet Makes Another World Cup Appearance

Chalamet has become a familiar face in the stands during the tournament. He also watched Spain defeat Belgium in the quarterfinals, attending that match with his father.

Kylie Jenner did not appear alongside him during that outing. Jenner had previously joined Chalamet courtside during the New York Knicks’ run to an NBA championship, but the actor handled his latest major sporting appearance without her.

Beckham, meanwhile, has followed the tournament with the enthusiasm expected from a former England captain. He celebrated England’s win over Norway on Saturday and could return for the national team’s semifinal against Argentina.

For one night, however, the lasting off-field image belonged to Beckham and Chalamet. Spain controlled the result, France suffered the elimination, and two celebrities from entirely different worlds created the moment that sent viewers into a double take.
