Dave Roberts makes Cowboys quip at people whining about Dodgers ruining MLB

Fans around MLB heavily criticized the game after the Los Angeles Dodgers traded for Tarik Skubal, adding yet another weapon to a very talented team. Manager Dave Roberts made a quip about the Dallas Cowboys when talking about how fans whine about his team ruining baseball, according to USA Today.

“When I hear people debating that, I think that’s a great thing for the game. It’s great for fans. At least they’re talking about baseball and not football. I’d rather them hate us than be talking about the Cowboys,” Roberts stated.

Roberts explained that talking about baseball was better than drifting to another sport. Ultimately, there are a plethora of players on the team already delivering. Shohei Ohtani has garnered attention as one of the best players in the game. Likewise, Mookie Betts has been a reliable hitter for the boys in blue. Skubal joined a rotation that already included Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Blake Snell. Yet, Roberts emphasized that they gave fans something to talk about.

“So if you love baseball, you talk about baseball. You can philosophize on it. Theorize on it. Debate it. Sure, I would love for them to love the Dodgers, but man, even if you hate us, you’re talking about baseball, and that’s a win for all of us,” Roberts added.

With the Dodgers continuing to thrive, there is no end to fans’ discussions about the team, and whether they are putting baseball in a bad light. For now, fans will continue to root for, or against, the Dodgers as the playoffs inch closer.
