Conor McGregor vs Max Holloway: Date, start time, fight card and where to watch UFC 329 blockbuster

Conor McGregor returns to fighting for the first time in 1,827 days at UFC 329.

McGregor faces Max Holloway in the main event of the Las Vegas card on July 11 – five years and one day after he broke his leg against Dustin Poirier in his last UFC appearance.

That was the 37-year-old’s second defeat to Poirier in 2021, having also been knocked out by the American at UFC 257 six months prior.

McGregor, who hasn’t won a fight since demolishing Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone in January 2020, has teased his UFC comeback several times in the last five years.

Years of speculation and rumours, including a cancelled return against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in June 2024, have now been settled.

It’s by far no easy task for McGregor, who faces a man still actively competing at the highest level against elites.

Despite losing to Charles Oliveira last time out and being knocked out for the first time in his career against Ilia Topuria at UFC 308, Holloway remains one of the promotion’s deadliest fighters.

His knockout of Justin Gaethje at UFC 300 with one second to go speaks for itself, as well as his performance to spoil a highly motivated Poirier’s retirement party last July.

Holloway heads into the clash as a clear favourite, but the big question is whether McGregor has it in him for one last run.
