CM Punk acted as elder brother to WWE legend’s daughter after his death

One of the most popular names in the pro-wrestling industry, CM Punk is also a known and popular mentor to several current talents in the industry. Back in 2005, after WWE legend Eddie Guerrero passed away, his daughter Sherilyn Guerrero found a brother in Punk.

During the WWE WrestleMania 42 week, former champion Bayley hosted her second Lodestone camp for women’s independent wrestlers. Among the several attendees was Sherilyn Guerrero, daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Eddie Guerrero. There at the camp, Sherilyn reunited with CM Punk. “The Second City Saint” was at the camp assisting Bayley along with the other WWE talents there.

Recently, speaking on The SmoothVega Podcast, Guerrero shared how it meant a lot to see Punk. She further recalled how Punk was the older brother she needed after her father passed away in 2005.

“So with CM Punk, I would go with him to his Make-A-Wishes, I would follow him around the ring. He was an older brother I needed after my dad passed away, and to see him was so heartwarming. We just hugged… I know CM Punk was like, ‘Don’t tell me you’re wrestling.’ I said, ‘I sure am,’ and he just embraced me.” (H/T Fightful).

Guerrero is currently training at WWE Hall of Famer Booker T and Sharmell Huffman’s Reality of Wrestling school in Texas.

Sherilyn Guerrero recalls working with WWE legend CM Punk at the Lodestone camp

Just days after attending Bayley’s Lodestone wrestling camp, Sherilyn Guerrero wrote a heartfelt message on her social media, expressing her gratitude to Punk. “So heres the thing about this seminar… this was more then a seminar, it was connection, reassurance, and realization. The connection from meeting girls to the first time who are such badass women and wrestlers but connecting again with people like you [CM Punk] who I would follow around alll the time as a kid and you’d share stories with me that I didn’t know would stay with me all these years,” Guerrero wrote. Her tribute also include heartfelt notes for Bayley and Rey Mysterio.
