49ers owner Jed York used fake name in desperate response to fake prostitute ad before trailer park arrest

Over the weekend, San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York was arrested at a trailer park in Ohio for allegedly arranging to pay a woman $140 for sexual activity.

The Ohio trailer park wanted it to be known that he was arrested there by coincidence. ESPN obtained an incident report that revealed York used a pseudonym — going by “Joe” — and responded three times to a fictitious ad for a prostitute before his arrest.

He was arrested at the site of the agreed-upon meet-up spot, Wheat Hill Mobile Home Community. York was communicating with someone he thought was a woman on a “known prostitution web site” that was actually an undercover cop. They set the meet-up location on the day of the arrest (Sunday, Aug. 23), and he was arrested upon arrival.

York was charged with two misdemeanors. The first was engaging in prostitution, and the second was for possession of criminal tools. His first charge was later changed to disorderly conduct as part of a plea agreement.

The Niners owner pleaded no contest. He paid $1,150 in fines and was sentenced to two days in jail (one day was already accounted for).

Per ESPN’s report, Wheat Hill claims to have “no other knowledge of the situation.” An anonymous representative claimed to be assured by East Palestine Police Department chief Chris Weingart that “they were not using addresses in the park as part of their sting operation.” According to the incident report, York was told to meet at a “fictitious lot number.”

Since 2024, York has been the majority owner of the 49ers. He has been with the team longer, though, becoming CEO in 2008. His parents, John and Denise DeBartolo York, are the co-chairs of the team. His uncle, Edward J. DeBartolo Jr., was previously the team’s owner.
