The Western Conference Finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs has garnered the attention of many because of the multiple storylines and the high level of basketball displayed by both squads.

Of course, other players are also tuned in to the best-of-seven series, including NBA legend Chris Paul, who played for the Thunder and the Spurs during his colorful career.

It must be hard for Paul to pick a side. A fan, however, made the perfect joke, which had referee Scott Foster catching a stray.

“Scott Foster doesn’t know which team to favor. He’s trying to figure out which team CP3 is rooting for,” said the fan.

The 41-year-old Paul reposted it on his Instagram Story, adding the caption, “FACTS” and several laughing emojis.

Paul and Foster have had a longstanding feud. Paul repeatedly lost in the playoffs whenever Foster was officiating. At one point, the 12-time All-Star lost 13 straight games in the postseason with Foster on the crew.

What started as frustration over officiating gradually turned into a big issue involving technical fouls, accusations of personal bias, and conspiracy theories. Fans enjoyed everything about it, which only added fuel to the fire.

Paul played for the Thunder in the 2019-2020 season. He has often been credited by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for aiding his development. Until today, CP3 and SGA have remained close.

Last season, Paul suited up for the Spurs, helping set the culture of the current squad, including the leadership of Victor Wembanyama.

Someone should start a petition to have Foster introduce Paul when he gets inducted into the Hall of Fame.
