Chiefs-Cowboys tipped to pull off blockbuster trade after $27m All-Pro receiver’s candid verdict
The George Pickens saga takes it’s next turn.
The Dallas Cowboys are fortunate to have two of the most gifted deep-field offensive threats in CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens.

Lamb is a five-time Pro Bowler with five-straight 1000+ yard seasons, while Pickens was recently named to his first Pro Bowl for what he accomplished this past season in his first campaign in Dallas.
The 25-year-old wide receiver guaranteed himself $27.3 million this season, a vast pay-rise from his four-year, $6.752 million rookie deal.
However, despite a breakout campaign, in which he was Dak Prescott‘s leading receiver, Dallas seem hesitant to offer him a long-term extension.
There was a glowing review from his quarterback.
“That guy makes it easy,” Prescott said.
“You see us just in routes on air out there, but you just go turn on the tape, that guy is going to get separation.
“He’s just different. He understands his leverage, he understands his routes.
“He understands where I’m looking for him at the catch point, the depth. So, yeah, it’s going to be a beneficial time.
“It’s going to be great. But we can go throw a lot of touchdowns right now. That guy’s ready.”
There has been speculation as to whether he could be dealt, after all, clashes with leadership at the Pittsburgh Steelers led them to trade Pickens to Dallas.

Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton has identified the perfect fit for Pickens if Dallas opt for this route.
“Dallas’ hesitation to negotiate a long-term deal with Pickens opens up the possibility for a trade midway through the upcoming campaign,”Moton wrote.
“If [Ryan] Flournoy blossoms in a complementary role, the Cowboys could trade Pickens to a receiver-needy contending team like the Kansas City Chiefs, who don’t have a reliable lead perimeter playmaker.”
The emergence of Cowboys second-year wideout Flournoy in 2025, who tallied 475 yards and four touchdowns, also renders Pickens more tradable.
Kansas City have Patrick Mahomes in his prime, locked up through 2033 on the richest contract in league history and three Super Bowl wins.
If they are willing to pay Pickens like on of the top receivers in the game, the franchise should have a good chance to make a deal for him if he becomes available.

For now, Pickens is happy, and took the chance to underline that after his first appearance at offseason activities.
However did turn up at the mandatory training, and was open about where he sees his future given the fact he has been tagged by the franchise.
Pickens was also seemingly reluctant to sign the franchise tender, and missed the team’s voluntary offseason work.
“The tag and all that, it’s just football first, so, definitely play football first, kind of like I did last year, and then let my agent worry about it really,” he said after the opening day of mandatory minicamp.
Dallas kickoff their season on Sunday Night Football against the New York Giants but before that off season activities continue, with training camp underway in late July.
The Cowboys also have preseason games against the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals and the New Orleans Saints
