Celtics’ Jayson Tatum explains concerning in-game leg issue vs. 76ers

The Boston Celtics had a golden opportunity to punch their ticket to the Eastern Conference Finals on Thursday night, but the Philadelphia 76ers had other plans. Instead of a celebration, the Celtics left Game 6 with a 106-93 blowout loss and a major reason to worry about Jayson Tatum.

The Celtics superstar sent a wave of panic through the fanbase when he retreated to the locker room during the third quarter. While he eventually returned to the bench, he spent the remainder of the night pedaling on a stationary bike rather than trying to mount a comeback against the surging Sixers.

After the game, Tatum shed some light on the concerning exit.

“You guys probably saw when I went to the back, saw me on the bike, my leg just was a little stiff when I came out third quarter,” Tatum told reporters.
