Undefeated former UFC fighter teases joining Jake Paul’s MVP-PFL merger

A couple of days ago, Jake Paul caused a major uproar in the world of combat sports. Officially forming a merger with PFL, Paul’s MVP now looks forward to focusing on a broader scale of combat sports and entertainment.

While Paul’s main competition, UFC, has most of the biggest names in the industry, PFL and MVP also boast some pretty popular and talented fighters. However, with the deal now done and official, former undefeated UFC fighter Muhammad Mokaev has teased a move to Paul’s new venture. Mokaev shared a post on social media and called out the new PFL-MVP merger to create a men’s flyweight division. “If MVP & PFL. Make 125 division. I’m ready for long term deal,” Mokaev wrote.

A flyweight fight planned for Jake Paul’s MVP MMA 1 this year, featuring the undefeated Muhammad Mokaev against the ex-three-time ONE Flyweight World Champion Adriano Moraes, had to be canceled. Mokaev withdrew because of visa problems, and Phumi Nkuta took his place.

There are not many flyweight fighters available right now for MVP-PFL to start a flyweight division, and Mokaev could easily be the top flyweight fighter in the world right now. Following a successful amateur run and an undefeated professional streak, Mokaev joined the UFC in 2022 and stayed there before parting ways in 2024.

“The Punisher” went on to win seven fights in the UFC. His first win was over Cody Durden. The 26-year-old finished his time with the UFC in 2024 after taking a unanimous decision over Manel Kape at UFC 304. Since then, he has been an active competitor for Brave Combat Federation.
