Cardinals’ Trey McBride drops shocked reaction to Myles Garrett-Rams trade

Myles Garrett will be terrorizing a new division this season. The Los Angeles Rams shocked the entire NFL by trading for the former Defensive Player of the Year. In return, LA sent young pass rusher Jared Verse and a first-round pick. The trade has sent the entire NFC, especially the NFC West, into a panic. Arizona Cardinals star tight end Trey McBride will be one of the players tasked with handling Garrett, and he reacted to the trade on TV.

McBride was a guest on the show “The Insiders”. Naturally, the Cardinals tight end was asked about the blockbuster trade that happened earlier in the day. McBride said that he was surprised that the Rams made it work, but he’s excited to take on the All-Pro-level edge rusher.

“You know, I was really shocked,” McBride said. “I was really trying to figure out how they were going to get this done, how they were going to [figure out] the salary… but honestly, the guy’s a tremendous player. You know, Jared Verse is also a tremendous player, so it’s kind of like one out, one in, and Myles Garrett’s been doing it at a high level for a long time, so I’m excited to go against one of the best in the league twice a year, every year.”

The Cardinals and the rest of the NFC West were already with one of the better pass-rush units in the league with the Rams last season. The duo of Verse and Byron Young was already terrorizing opposing offensive lines with their ability to pressure the quarterback. Now, the Rams just got a super-charged version in Garrett, who recently set the single-season record for most sacks in a season.

As for the Cardinals, the team is simply looking to find a way to get its franchise back on track. They made the first move of their rebuild by releasing former first overall pick Kyler Murray. Against three titans in the NFC West, who knows what kind of noise Arizona can make in their division next season.
