Captain’s Picks named for United States Solheim Cup team

Angela Stanford’s captain’s picks are in.

Last week’s CPKC Women’s Open was the final event within the Qualification Period so Monday saw Captain Stanford make her picks to join her United States group.

• Megan Khang
• Rose Zhang

It is Duncan’s first Solheim Cup appearance and as she is 35 years old she is the oldest player to make their debut in the event since Nancy Scranton did so in 2000 at age 39. Khang and Zhang are each Solheim Cup veterans so this is familiar territory for them.

As far as the automatic qualifiers for the United States are concerned, that group was already set obviously.

Andrea Lee and Alison Lee specifically qualified through the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings.

Action awaits in the Netherlands just a few weeks from now, and this United States side will be looking to bring the title back to this part of the world.
