Buccaneers’ Emeka Egbuka limps off field with joint practice injury scare

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in a joint practice with the New York Jets heading into Friday’s preseason matchup. On Wednesday, star wideout Emeka Egbuka was forced to exit practice early after sustaining a lower-body injury.

Reports indicate that the 23-year-old wide receiver limped off the field before being examined by athletic trainers, according to Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network. It’s said that Egbuka spent a decent amount of time on the medical table.

Buccaneers WR Emeka Egbuka limped off with athletic trainers,” Garafolo reported. “Was examined on the sideline table for a while. Hard to see exactly what’s up from where we are, but he’s still on the table and hasn’t returned.”

About 10 minutes after sharing that report on X, Garafolo then claimed that Egbuka eventually walked to the sideline with his teammates without any cleats. He stated that the former first-round pick stood on the sideline and watched the remainder of practice from there.

“Egbuka, with both cleats off, just walked back to the sideline to watch the rest of practice,” Garafolo said.

This story is currently developing, and more information will be available soon.
