Browns prepared to ‘go get’ in-demand QB that could have implications on Shedeur Sanders
Are the Cleveland Browns hiding a masterplan in plain sight?
Last week, the Browns pulled off a stunning blockbuster trade, sending Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams.

Garrett, the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year, set the record for the most sacks in a single season in 2025.
The Browns roster is young, and could take a step back in 2026 without Garrett leading the defense, but it’s clear to see this was a move for the future.
Not only did the Browns bring in Jared Verse, who has already caused awkwardness at camp, but they also added a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick and a 2029 third-rounder.
Cleveland now own 11 picks in the 2027 Draft, touted as one of the most talented pools of players seen in years.
For Cleveland in particular, the Garrett trade puts them in a good position, particularly in the pursuit for University of Texas quarterback Arch Manning.
Browns prepared to get Arch Manning in 2027 NFL Draft
Pete Prisco of CBS Sports has claimed that the Garrett trade will be judged on the fact as to whether they wind up with the Longhorns quarterback.
In 2025, Manning threw for 3163 yards with 26 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 13 starts.
“If I were the Cleveland Browns fans, this is what I would do: I would start watching a lot of the University of Texas,” Prisco said.
“That’s what I would do. I would keep an eye on the University of Texas because they have a quarterback by the name of Manning down there and their owner, Jimmy Haslam, is very tight with the Manning family.
“I think this sets them up to go make the move if they have to next year to go get Arch Manning. And that’s how this trade will ultimately be judged.

“Right now, if you had to grade it, you’d say Rams, they killed it right now with this move.
“Ten years down the road, if they end up with Arch Manning and he becomes the answer at quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, who have not had one in forever, then they’ll win the trade.”
Cleveland, of course, will need to be bad enough to either have the pick in the range to draft Manning.
Alternatively, they will need to put a goo enough package together to trade to the range.
It also requires one of their current hurlers, Deshaun Watson or Shedeur Sanders to underperform in 2026.
The current quarterback battle is one of the most intriguing stories league-wide, with Shedeur’s confidence paving the way for success.

Manning on the other hand may have to perform slightly better than the story the numbers told in 2025.
He is considered a top 2027 quarterback based more on potential and glimpses than on consistent production.
