Brian Windhorst already thinking Knicks ‘parade’ before NBA Finals Game 4

On Monday evening, the New York Knicks let the San Antonio Spurs back into their NBA Finals matchup with a narrow Game 3 loss at home. The Knicks still lead the series 2-1, but the pressure is now on them to bounce back in Game 4 or else risk losing home court advantage in the matchup.

Recently, ESPN NBA insider Brian Windhorst broke down just how much Game 4 will mean for the Knicks.

“If the Knicks win tomorrow night, get the parade lined up,” said Windhorst on ESPN, per New York Post Sports on X, formerly Twitter.

If the Knicks were to take Game 4, they’d be up 3-1, a deficit that only the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers have been able to rally from in the NBA Finals, although there have already been two 3-1 comebacks in the 2026 playoffs so far.

However, Windhorst also addressed the alternate possibility.

“If the Spurs win tomorrow night, it’s panic city among Knicks fans,” he said.

Indeed, all of the good vibes that were built from the Knicks’ opening two wins on the road in this series would be erased if they dropped two home games in front of a Madison Square Garden crowd filled with fans who spent many thousands of dollars to see their team on the Finals stage for the first time in 27 years.

On Monday, it seemed to be the Knicks, and not the young Spurs, who were more rattled by the electric environment at the Garden, and New York will have to do a better job of coming out of the gates focused and in sync for Game 4.

In any case, Game 4 of the NBA Finals is set to get underway on Wednesday at 8:30 pm ET, once again in New York City.
