Brewers’ Jacob Misiorowski admits jeans no longer fit after offseason work

Fans understandably marvel at Jacob Misiorowski’s arm, but one must not forget about the legs. The Milwaukee Brewers sensation pushed the radar gun to its limits and consistently bewildered St. Louis Cardinals hitters on Memorial Day, throwing a mystifying 57 pitches at 100 mph or more during what was a masterful seven-inning performance. Elite velocity already defined the young right-hander’s game, but he has become downright terrifying on the mound in 2026.

And his offseason routine could explain why. Misiorowski focused on increasing his lower body-strength, and after committing to leg day throughout the winter, he shattered his goal. The 6-foot-7 hurler’s pant size increased from 36 to 38, per MLB.com’s Adam McCalvy, which has helped him generate a tremendous combination of power and control. There is a downside to the big gains, however.

“Last year I bought all new jeans,” Misiorowski said, per McCalvy. “Now it’s like, they’re gone.” He should gladly accept this inconvenience if it means a meteoric rise into superstardom. Based on his blistering start to the 2026 campaign, the 24-year-old should eventually have enough money to buy all the jeans he can store.

Jacob Misiorowski owns a sensational 1.83 ERA with an MLB-leading 100 strikeouts through 64 innings of work this season. He weathered his share of struggles in his rookie year, but since the 2025 playoffs, the former second-round draft pick out of Neosho, Missouri’s Crowder College has been one of the best pitchers in baseball.

Misiorowski is managing to stand out in what could be a historically loaded National League Cy Young race (still early, obviously). This purveyor of mayhem and defier of logic is scheduled to next take the hill in a road matchup versus the Houston Astros on Sunday. Perhaps he can buy a couple new pairs of pants in the meantime.
