Dream fans give Angel Reese her flowers for historic performance vs. Sparks

Angel Reese had herself a night on Monday, leading the Atlanta Dream past the Los Angeles Sparks, 78-71, at Crypto.com Arena with a historic performance.

Reese finished with 11 points, a career-high 26 rebounds, three assists, and three steals. She set the league record for most rebounds in a game and most rebounds in a single season. Reese surpassed Chamique Holdsclaw and A’ja Wilson, respectively, for the impressive feats.

She leads the WNBA in rebounds this season with 12.4 per game. She has 458 rebounds and counting. She was the rebounding queen last season with 12.6 boards per game.

Fans gave the 24-year-old forward her flowers for her latest milestone.

“26 rebounds in a single game is purely historic! Angel Reese owns the glass,” said @lucky_voller.

“All that backlash on her. She’s really showing us what she can do,” added @jackson_da55761.

“She’s just getting warmed up. The girl got a motor on her,” wrote @trapmamba318.

“I feel like she’s working towards (being the) best rebounder of all time,” posted @zaireoneal.

“26 REBOUNDS! ANGEL REESE, YOU’RE UNREAL. History right there!” commented @RebeccaJoy211.

The three-time All-Star grabbed at least 20 rebounds in a game for the fifth time since entering the WNBA in 2024.

Her tenacity and competitiveness have made her a menace on the glass. Even at LSU, the 6-foot-3 Reese was almost impossible to keep off the paint.

She tallied her 27th double-double of the season, the most by any player.

The Dream outrebounded the Sparks, 48-32, including 15-7 on the offensive glass. Reese had eight offensive rebounds.

Atlanta notched its fourth straight win and improved to 25-13.
