Controversial ex-NFL owner ‘invisible’ after leaving US following record sale, ‘He’ll never be back’
Daniel Snyder sold the Washington Commanders and headed for the hills.
The mogul sold his boyhood team to a consortium led by Josh Harris for a then-world record $6.05 billion in 2023 after years of controversy.

Front Office Sports spoke to former associates three years later.
“Talk about a guy that’s gone invisible,” one source said. “I heard he was interested as a potential investor soon after he sold the Commanders.
“But I haven’t heard anything recently…. He’d still prefer to own the [Commanders].”
Snyder and his wife Tanya moved to London before the sale was completed and haven’t been heard from much since. Bloomberg reported that they spent $67 million on a luxury home in the UK capital.

“I don’t think anybody is in touch with him about anything,” another official told FOS. “I don’t know who he hangs out with. I don’t know who he talks to. Certainly nobody in the NFL is talking to him.”
An investigation conducted by attorney Mary Jo White concluded the Commanders withheld revenue that should have been shared with other franchises.
The former owner was also found to have sexually harassed a former team employee and he made $60 million payment to the league as part of the deal.
“From what I have gathered through just talking to people, the league has just totally moved on from him,” revealed a member of his staff in Washington. “You bring up that name, people are like, ‘What?’ Like, ‘Nah, never mind.’ And I think he’s over there just basically living a life of anonymity.
“Nobody in London gives a s*** who Dan Snyder is. And it’s probably mutually beneficial. The people in London don’t care…. It’s one of those things where thank God I don’t spend much time thinking about [it].
“It’s just weird. It’s like talking about a movie sometimes…. People would be like, ‘Really?’ Yeah, believe it or not, that actually happened.”

Commanders move on from Daniel Snyder controversy
One of the last major acts of Snyder’s reign was to rebrand the Redskins to the Football Team and then Commanders.
Harris has continued the transformation with a $3.8 billion domed arena set to open at the site of RFK Stadium in 2030.
The historic location brings the Commanders back to Washington on the hallowed ground where the franchise won three Super Bowls.
Jayden Daniels‘ rookie season ended in an NFC Championship Game defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles.
He missed the playoffs a season later after an injury-assisted sophomore slump, but things are looking up and it doesn’t look like Snyder has any intention of casting a shadow.
One of the sources declared: “He’ll never be back. In London, they… don’t bother him.”
