Brenda Song proves she knows ball with her epic NBA starting 5

Brenda Song knows ball.

The actress is known for extensive NBA knowledge, and she proved it once again through the rationale of her elite starting five. She started off by sharing that she is “very biased” and would have several NBA legends in her dream Starting 5.

“My center would obviously be Shaq,” the actress who stars in Netflix’s Running Point told Complex. “My power forward would be Tim Duncan. Of course, my shooting—it’s so hard because MJ is the GOAT, but I’ll have Kobe on my team any day.”

Where it kind of tripped up the former Disney actress was figuring out who would be her point guard. She threw out Gary Payton II and Stephen Curry as options that kept her stumped.

“I kind of go back and forth because you can’t just have a million scorers on the team,” Song continued. “And this is the crazy one. To have my other forward, my small forward, most people would say LeBron [James], I don’t need another scorer, I want Dennis Rodman in there.”

After a little debate, she came up with a starting five she had confidence in.

“So it would be Steph, Kobe, Tim Duncan, Rodman, and Shaq,” she concluded.

Song is no stranger to professional sports. She has attended multiple NBA games with her fiancé, Macaulay Culkin. In addition to being a Lakers fan she has also professed her fandom to the Los Angeles Rams. She even admitted that she would leave her three-decades long career in acting to work for the Rams.

“You can’t mic me up at a Rams game. I would be cancelled immediately,” she said, jokingly during an episode of Kylie Kelce’s Not Gonna Lie podcast on May 1. “I would just be yelling the entire time. One of my goals is to be an assistant defensive coordinator. That is my dream goal. That is what I want to do in life. Especially now, I feel like I’ve gotten a lot more calm. You might have to ask Mack. He’ll probably say something different.”
